In a few words, what is cataract?
Cataract is an eye disease known since Antiquity and this disorder is observed both for animals and humans. The main symptom is a clouding of the lens, which is transparent in absence of cataract. The vision slowly changes: glare of light, "veil in front of the eye", duller colors and reading becomes difficult. Cataract occurs most often for people over 60 years but it can also affect younger people and sometimes children. Surgery is generally the only way to improve the vision.
